On Tuesday 8 September 2026 an one day excursion is planned for the conference participants to the village of Milies.

Price is €50 and will include lunch with local specialties.

Seats are limited to the capacity of the coach (20). Please state your interest in the excursion when you register!

Schedule

• Gathering in a main street near the conference venue at 09:15.
• Boarding the bus to Milies.
• Arrival at Miles train station.
• Walk to the de Cirico bridge over the gorge and back (500m).
• Walk the path to the village square. Warning: this is an occasionally steep cobbled path (about 600m, but uphill). If you feel you cannot make it, you can take the bus.
• Visit the church of Taxiarches to see the Zodiac and learn about the importance of its frescoes.
• Visit the historical library of Milies to browse through old astronomy books.
• Lunch at a tavern on the village square.
• Return to Volos by bus. Estimated arrival time 16:00.
